Pastor's Corner

She looked upwards from the ground into his deep brown eyes.
Doctor after doctor had declared her dieing and soon to be dead. Friend after friend had walked by with ashen faces in preparation for the day when they would throw ashes over their bodies as they mourned her passing. Priest after priest had turned away because she was 'unclean' not to mention the loves she lost once they found out she was sickly.

She didn't know if he was a man or a god a prophet or a priest a carpenter or a messiah. What she did know was how badly she hurt. What she did know was that many had been healed.

Why not her! She was a daughter of Israel, right? She was a faithful soul who with open heart gave her sacrifices regularly. She was a daughter of Abraham to whom HIM WHO HEARS had made many sovereign promises, was she not.

She looked upward from the ground as she slid closer from the side the eyes seemed ordinary enough. Nothing there that should be beholden really no sign of power no sign of 'being special' like the Pharasees claimed for themselves.

The pain cut through her body like the knife the doctors used to try to save her barbarians. What did they know about doctoring. They just slowed the dieing process with their efforts. They just got rich off her pain. They just prolonged her misery. Help is what she needed.

She looked up into those eyes which didn't even see her. She was just another ripple of the sea of peoples rushing around this great rock of a man. They didn't even see this worthless piece of floatsum drifting in for the bounce just a bounce just a touch just a hem nothing fancy. She didn't even want to be seen... just to stop hurting.

She looked up one last time into his eyes but they turned away as he reached to someone else. Then she brushed the robe she touched form just a thread of a touch. Instantly she knew: HIM WHO HEARS also is HIM WHO SEES!

Invisible eyes looked back at her an invisible smile looked down at her an invisible hand touched her. Was that a tremor of fear for having touched, or was it a tremor of power for being touched. She paused as those brown eyes walked away from her yet a few more paces.

Then she heard that voice the voice of joy the voice of peace the voice of pure love.

They said it in the same breath her and him!

WHO TOUCHED ME??

Made physically and eternally whole and in one breath's time! Never to hurt again. LIFE reigned not death.

The next words confirmed what she already knew. "YOUR FAITH HAS MADE YOU WHOLE!"

She looked up into those wonderful brown eyes . . . so much
