“Whose shoes I am not worthy to unlatch.” – the Bible

Why is it that we human beings find it so easy to stand up against God? What is it in us allowing us to think that we 'the creature' can speak against, argue against, and flat ignore The Creator?

And then when we find out that He can be severe, and has laws to follow, and gives rules for our lives we feel that we can’t approach Him at all  that somehow He is there to always point the finger and throw the javelin at us like Saul did to David?

Then on the other hand once we find out that he is benevolent ruler, and loving Father, and a Longsuffering Deity we then think that we can just get way with anything? We ignore spiritual reality, brush off the Voice, quench the Spirit and go our way saying, ‘Not now Lord.’

It seems that we mortals are a pendulum on a clock -- all one way, all the other way, never the balanced position. Perhaps we are ‘under the influence’ of another spirit  one which gets a thrill out of pushing us into ditches  anything but a balanced relationship with HIM.

The sovereign “ists” says: You cannot tell God what to do!

The word-faith “ists” say: What you believe is all you get!

The free-will “ists” say: God is waiting on you to act!

The free-spirited say: God wants you to appropriate!

The anti-sinners say: God is not going to help you  you must!

The atheists say: God is not! You are alone in it.

The deists say: God is watching, but not too close. Be free.

The hedonists say: Eat drink and be merry, tomorrow you die.

The holiness folks say: Until you are pure God cannot…

The grace folks say: God does not truly care  it is all covered.

The Positive Confessionalists say: What you say is what you get!

The Humanists say: We don’t need the help, thank you!

The demonized say: Get away! Get away! Get away!

The pragmatists say: I can’t wait on Him, or us  Get out of my way!

The idealists say: It will all work out! Time heals all!

BUT….

The true believer says: ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE TO THEM THAT BELIEVE  WHO WALK ACCORDING TO HIS WILL  WHO ARE FIRMLY PURSUADED THAT HE IS A REWARDER OF THEM WHO DILIGENTLY SEEK HIM  WHO DRAW NIGH UNTO HIM IN LOVE.

SPIRIT KINDLED

 Prologue

My LORD said to my Lord, come sit by my side,

Until all of MY people have My Spirit inside,

The Devil told them I wouldn’t do it, but of course he lied,

Come sit in my PRESENCE, in rest we shall abide.

Stage One:

They sat all together at a nice place to conceive,

They prayed and they tarried, it was so easy to believe,

He had not stayed dead, his body he did retrieve,

Who was to doubt the Father’s promise they’d receive.

The wind rushed wild and roared through the place,

The fire descended and lit up each face;

Like Moses down from the Mountain, God’s special place,

holding the written Word (in his hands) and Power on his face.

Stage Two:

He sat in the corner awaiting God’s sign of the time,

He knew it could come at most any unknown time,

But the angel did startle him from his prayers sublime,

When came then the knock on the door with no chime.

The apostle led there seemed uncertain, that was for sure,

But he had learned to follow the Lord, yes, that was for sure,

Yet the vision of the sheet was quite troubling for sure,

But he knew God was here to do something indeed – for sure!

Stage Three:

The murderous man with the with legions to command,

Gathered up God’s family to kill them as planned,

It was ridiculous to think they would claim God had this planned

To place of HIMSELF into these foolish people – on demand?!

The light shown brightly, the voice clear to hear,

But none of the soldiers could respond due to fear,

And then came the blindness and the waiting and fear,

Until he became inhabited by HIM WHO IS NEAR.

Epilogue

The Lord said to My LORD, come see what is done,

They glow and they grow and they are becoming as one,

Your Spirit is manifest; it shines forth as the Sun,

This is most excellent! Act One is done!
